Day 16

Let’s open a bottle of white on this balmy 60° Day 🙂

Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc

Matanzas Creek Winery, located on a retired dairy farm in Sonoma County, is known for crafting a range of wines with a focus on high-quality Bordeaux and Rhône varietals. They were founded in 1977 and have built a reputation for producing award winning wines and since 2017 have been certified sustainable.

Matanzas Creek Sauvignon Blanc, first produced in 1980, is one of their flagship white wines and is often praised for its balance, elegance, and expressive flavors.  It has aromas of guava, grapefruit and lemon zest.  On the palate, the wine tends to have crisp acidity with flavors of honeysuckle, key lime blossoms, tropical fruits, and subtle green notes with good minerality.

Pair this with oysters, pasta with pesto or goat cheese.

Serve cold between 45° – 55°F

Varietal: Sauvignon Blanc with a touch of Sémillon
